Once, the yoke of The Great White Bear was removed from their state machinery these three independent Baltic States, with their rich culture, and history entered the European Community fold, and now provide a source of semi-skilled labour to the 27 EC countries as well as two-way trade, as they develop their own economic infra-structure. At my Bureau, we have met Baltic immigrants, who strive to establish a home here in England. Many speak Russian, their own national language, German, and some English. All the countries have close links with Scandinavia, and Finland given their Eastern sea board, culture, and language.
